Kiehl’s Skincare Picks

When you find a great skincare brand that fits your skins needs in almost every step of the routine, it’s suddenly very easy to overload your shelf with the cleanser, the serum, the oil AND the eye cream. I’ve had no problem doing that with Kiehl’s, and after extensive purse using I’ve narrowed down my favourite products from them (so far…).

My first love from the Kiehl’s tree is their Midnight Recovery Concentrate, the infamous dry oil which hydrates, softens and helps replenish skin overnight. I don’t think I could survive easily without knowing this is tucked away in my stash, and as much as the temptation to swap it out and try another oil or heavy-duty moisturiser calls, I can’t seem to stop myself repurchasing it (soon to be the case again). Recently released, Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate, is a sister product designed for daytime use, and is sitting very nicely on my wishlist – and one day I will actually get round to trying it.

Another now frequently repurchased product is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, a super simple daily moisturiser that does what it says on the tin. It doesn’t interfere with primers, make-up or extra skincare steps and leaves skin super soft. It’s a very stripped back fragrance and add-ons free type of moisturiser, which can sometimes feel a little plain, and on those days where I want more than just a well-moisturised face (I know, I want it all), I’ll use something more oomph. There are no surprises with this one however, and for anyone who finds moisturisers a little hit and miss, this classic needs to be part of your skincare wardrobe.

Swatched above is a more recently purchased eye cream and concealer hybrid, the Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector. Fortunately I don’t suffer with difficult dark circles, but I can still appreciate the magic this tiny little tube has to offer. Loaded with SPF 30 it protects the most sensitive part of your face whilst keeping the area smooth and hydrated, whilst the light coverage provides a nice base for a real concealer if the under eyes need to be lifted further. Its easy-going hybrid nature makes it the perfect candidate for a fuss-free, low maintenance make-up day, perfectly paired with the Micro-Blur Skin Perfector, a perfect little primer that gently blurs out slight skin imperfections whilst smoothing skin and acting as a nice base for make-up (for those make-up days). As a primer it creates a softer canvas on the skin opposed to being a long-lasting base for foundation, but it is a great little extra that provides me with the instant gratification that those pores on my nose are ever so slightly less noticeable.
