As if I needed anymore pastel nail polishes in my life (said and echoed by the beauty blogosphere…), yet here I am with a new trio of milky shades that have been gracing my fingertips the last fortnight! With Easter having just gone, baby-chick-yellows and mini-egg pinks have been hot on my radar, trying to get as much wear out of them until the temperature heats up and summer finally rolls around. One of two new formulas for me is the colour riche range from L’Oreal Paris; already in the cutest tiny bottle, their newest pastel shades have been admired from afar for a while now. I picked up Peach Negligé (£5), a coral tinged off-white which is subtle and elegant on the nails. The formula for these however, was a smudge disappointing, slightly streaky application (always a downfall for near white shades), and very flaky after just a day. For an afternoon or evening these formulas are fab, they dry quickly and have a glossy finish without a topcoat, but I wouldn’t expect anything too long wearing out of them.

A second complete newbie for me is the & Other Stories nail polish, in the shade Ease Vanilla (£5). The muted yellow, which could easily be carried over into the summer months, applies like a dream with an Essie-sequel width of brush and a solid colour after two coats. As far as I can tell the longevity of the formula is decent, you can’t go wrong with it for such a brilliant affordable product from a somewhat pricier store. (Gorgeous sure… but yeah).

Then there is a Barry M Gelly classic (of course!), a bargain as always, their new shade, Rose Hip (£3.99) is a pink toned nude. A thick and glossy finish, a dream to apply (everyone knows how brilliant these formulas are, no need to go on much more…), my personal favourite out of the trio (although Ease Vanilla is not far behind!).
