Shopping My Stash is the popular blogging tag that’s always floating around somewhere in the blogosphere. Stemming from the idea that it’s not always wise to acquire more and more beauty or skincare or body products, and it could be just as exciting (and beneficial to your purse) to rummage through that pile of forgotten make-up. A month or so ago I thoroughly cleansed my make-up drawers, but due to the ongoing struggle of what to do with unwanted make-up (not wanting to just chuck it when you remember how many hours you worked for it…), my box of unwanted got a reawakening, and I found myself some gems!
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation: I lived in this lightweight water-based foundation most of last year. It doesn’t give a great deal of coverage, but it sits nicely on the skin and provides a nice base for simple or more full-on make-up (providing my skin is being reasonably well-behaved). I use the shade Warm Ivory, which is just right autumn through to spring – hopefully I won’t throw it in the undesirable box again anytime soon!
Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Golden Light: A completely matte bronzing powder from the natural-looking make-up queen, Bobbi Brown. The lightest shade gives me a nice glow now the weather is colder, and allows me to go all-out with my highlighter and not look like a glitter ball (although sometimes that’s the way to go).
Benefit Gimmie Brow: I’m pretty sure this was my second tiny tube of volumizing brow fibres. I use the paler shade and used to use this as a brow setter over other products, or as a light brow definer on lighter make-up days (when your eyebrows look like they’ve been dragged through a hedge, it tends to ruin the natural beauty you’re going for).
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Love Liberty: This lipstick range from Charlotte Tilbury must be one of the most drool-worthy. This muted berry-red colour is perfect for autumn, and I’m so happy I found it again (whilst being distraught that I ever forgot about it). The hydrating, creamy formula to this range mean you’d never expect them to be so long-lasting, but on me they’ve lasted all day without touching up, and fade pretty evenly after eating a burger (my go-to lipstick test).
